1. What cookies are
Cookies are small text files stored by a browser. They can remember a preference, support a session or help a site understand broad usage. Belvorn uses a restrained approach and does not use cookies to build a health profile. Some cookies are essential to a page functioning, while optional types require a choice.
2. Session cookies
Session cookies last until the browser closes. They can support navigation and short-lived security checks. They do not ordinarily identify a reader by name. If a browser blocks them, some interactive features may not behave as expected.
3. Preference cookies
A preference record may remember that a reader has responded to the cookie banner. The site preference can last for up to 12 months. It stores a simple choice rather than article reading history. Clearing browser storage removes the preference and displays the banner again.
4. Analytics cookies
If optional analytics are enabled in a future release, they will be described here by provider, name, purpose and lifespan. Belvorn currently prioritises aggregate, limited measurement and does not use analytics to infer private health information. Optional analytics remain off until a reader accepts them.
5. Your choices
You can accept, reject or revisit cookie choices through the banner when available. Browser settings also allow cookies to be blocked or deleted. Rejecting optional cookies does not prevent access to ordinary editorial pages. Essential technical storage may still be needed for a secure browsing session.
6. Third parties
Embedded services, such as the map on the contact page, may set their own technologies when loaded. Their policies govern those technologies. Belvorn does not control third-party storage and recommends reviewing the provider’s current information before interacting with an embed.
7. Retention
Consent preferences are kept for up to 12 months, after which a fresh choice may be requested. Technical logs have a normal 30-day window. If a security or legal review requires a longer record, access is limited and the reason is documented.

9. International processing
Some technical suppliers may operate outside the UK. Belvorn reviews contractual safeguards and transfer mechanisms before enabling optional services. A reader may request general supplier information through the contact channel.
10. Revision log
Reviewed 9 April 2026: clarified session, preference and optional analytics categories. Previous versions are retained internally for accountability. A later update will show its own date and describe any material change in plain language.
6. Cookie register
The cookie banner may store a consent record named belvorn_cookie_consent. It normally lasts for 12 months and records a choice such as accepted, rejected or settings selected. A short-lived session identifier may be used while a form or interactive element is open and expires when the browsing session ends. Belvorn does not use these names to create a profile about reading of skin health articles.

7. Third-party technologies
The contact page includes a Google Maps embed, which may set or read technologies according to Google’s own settings and policies when loaded. Fonts, hosting, security and form services may also use technical storage needed to deliver their function. Belvorn does not activate optional analytics until a reader makes an affirmative choice where consent is required. A provider’s own privacy notice should be read alongside this policy because Belvorn cannot control its independent settings.
Where a third party receives information, the transfer is limited to the page function being requested. Blocking third-party storage may leave the map unavailable while the rest of the site remains readable.
8. Managing and withdrawing consent
A reader can reject optional cookies through the banner, delete stored cookies in browser settings or contact [email protected] for guidance. Withdrawal affects future use and does not make earlier lawful processing retrospective. Browser controls differ, so the relevant help page for Safari, Chrome, Firefox or Edge provides the most accurate steps. A consent preference may be requested again after 12 months or after browser storage is cleared.
Belvorn will review the cookie register when a technical service changes. This policy was reviewed on 9 April 2026; an earlier review on 1 January 2026 covered the banner wording and essential storage. Future changes will identify new providers, names, purposes and lifespans before optional technologies are enabled.

We aim to acknowledge enquiries within five working days and provide a substantive reply within 20 working days. 10. Cookie inventory and lifespans
The consent record may be named belvorn_cookie_consent and can remain for up to 12 months. A temporary session value may be named belvorn_session and normally expires when the browser session closes. No analytics cookie is active at the date shown on this page. If a future analytics service is enabled, this register will identify its provider, cookie names, purpose, retention and consent route before activation.

11. International providers and third parties
Some hosting, security, email or embedded map providers may process technical information outside the United Kingdom. Belvorn will use a lawful transfer mechanism and proportionate contractual safeguards where required. The Google Maps embed may be controlled by Google’s own settings when it loads, and its privacy information applies alongside this policy. Blocking third-party storage may affect the map while leaving the editorial pages available.
Provider changes are reviewed when a service is added, removed or materially altered. A reader may ask for a current description of relevant providers by writing to [email protected].
12. Consent, complaints and revision history
Consent can be withdrawn through the banner where available, through browser controls or by contacting [email protected]. Withdrawal applies to future optional use and does not alter processing that was lawful before withdrawal. We aim to acknowledge cookie questions within five working days and provide a substantive reply within 20 working days. Concerns may also be raised with the Information Commissioner’s Office.
